A local charity has launched a free exercise group for people living with dementia and their carers – with an ‘S Club’ theme including stretching, striking, and shimmying.
Dementia Jersey has partnered with local qualified instructors to offer gentle exercise activities each week.
These include:
Susie Kelly, Activity and Volunteer Coordinator, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer these new exercise groups.
"Our aim is to provide an inclusive offering, so everyone has the chance to get involved, keep active and perhaps try something new.
“Exercise provides so many benefits and those who attend our activities are also forming new friendships and having fun.”

Dementia Jersey is also challenging islanders to walk or run 50 miles this month, as part of ‘The 50 Mile Challenge’.
This event encourages participants to get outdoors and be active while raising money to help support the 1,600 people in Jersey living with dementia.
The ‘S Club’ exercise programme will take place every Tuesday at St Martin’s Public Hall, from 15:30 until 16:00.
