Foot injury puts a stop to diving at Lido

Thursday 07 July 2022

The diving platform at the Havre des Pas Lido has been cordoned off after someone using it was injured.

The Infrastructure Department's Sports Facilities Team said this afternoon: "...The ladder of the diving platform has caused a foot injury and as such will be attending tomorrow to cordon off this area until the ladder has been inspected and repaired next week."

The team also advised that it will be opening the Havre des Pas outdoor pool sluice gates next Thursday (14 July) and closing them the following day in order to inspect and repair the diving platform ladder.

The opening of the gates will allow the pool to drain during low tide, meaning islanders will not be able to swim at this time.

Officials will also be undertaking "some minor render works around the seals of the new sluice gates" and replacing a grate in the toddler pool.
