Fourth teen arrested in connection with stabbing

Wednesday 12 January 2022

A fourth teenager has been arrested on suspicion of being involved with the stabbing of an 18-year-old in St. Saviour.

Police confirmed this morning that a young man, aged 16, had been taken into custody.

The trio arrested on Monday - boys aged 16, 17 and 18 - also remain in custody.

The 18-year-old stabbing victim was found in the parking area to the rear of the Unifare shop on Le Geyt Road around 23:00 on Sunday (9 January), and was airlifted to Southampton Hospital.

Officers said yesterday that he was "recovering following several hours of surgery".

On Monday and Tuesday, members of the Force conducted patrols of the area to offer "reassurance" to members of the public living in the area.

A spokesperson for Andium, which looks after the nearby Le Geyt Flats, commented: "The incident at Le Geyt is an ongoing police investigation. We are of course in contact with the police as their enquiries continue, however, at this stage they have not requested any specific assistance from us."

Police officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses, and asking for anyone who saw anything suspicious between 20:00 and 23:00 to get in touch. They are also calling for help from those who may have CCTV or dash-cam footage.
