Trial for man accused of dealing cannabis

Sunday 12 September 2021

A 20-year-old man is facing a trial before Royal Court later this year over allegations of supply, importation and possession of cannabis.

Joel Steven William Hampton, who denies all three drugs charges against him, will be tried from 13 December 2021.

He is accused of having supplied or offered to supply cannabis resin between 1 June 2018 and 12 January 2020.

He is also accused of having been involved in the importation of cannabis resin on or before 10 January 2020.

The third charge relates to possession of cannabis on 11 January 2020 at a property in St. Helier.

Mr Hampton, who appeared before the Royal Court on Friday without a legal representative, has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
