Yogis are doing a big stretch to raise money for victims of domestic violence.
Dozens of people have signed up to do 108 sun salutations one after the other in the Island’s first sponsored Yoga Mala at the end of this month.
It will be no mean feat – a sun salutation is a combination of 12 poses that flow together and those taking part will have just two and a half hours to complete the challenge.
The event at Trinity Showground on 31 January is being organised by Calli De La Haye from Yoga Box who wanted to help Jersey Womens Refuge.
Calli said: "The Yoga Mala is an exciting opportunity to kick start or re-start your yoga practice or to begin 2015 with a challenge! Try something different and help make a difference."
The challenge gets underway at 2 pm on 31 January and Calli will have five instructors teaching on the day. She says it’s for all levels of yogi and there’s an option to do a half mala instead. She’s now offering some free practice sessions to get people limbered up for the big day.
They are being held on Saturday 17 and Saturday 24 January from 11.30 am until 12.30 at the Yoga Box Studio in West Centre.
You can register for the event by emailing info@yoga-box.co.uk
