Motorcyclist injured in rush hour hill crash

A 24-year-old motorbike rider had to be taken to hospital following a rush hour crash involving a Mercedes and a hire car on Beaumont Hill.

The collision occurred around 17:15 on Monday as the motorcyclist travelled up the hill.

Police said that it then collided with two vehicles travelling in the opposite direction down the hill: a silver Mercedes and a white Vauxhall Corsa hire car.

Ambulance and Fire and Rescue officials were called to the area, and the rider was taken to the Emergency Department. His injuries were described as "minor".

No one else was reported to have been hurt.

Police are now seeking more information on how the crash happened, and are calling for islanders who witnessed the incident to come forward.
