The man accused of murdering a former honorary policewoman is to be transferred to a secure psychiatric unit in the UK for mental health assessment.
The order came during Andrew Charles Nisbet's (40) first Royal Court appearance after his case was deemed too serious to be dealt with in the Magistrate’s Court.
Appearing via video link from Jersey's prison, the defendant was read his indictment. His Counsel, Advocate Mark Boothman, reserved his client’s plea to the charge of killing Pamela Nisbet at her home on 6 August.

Crown Advocate Matthew Maletroit then made an application to transfer the man to a medium secure NHS facility in the UK for psychological assessment.
After a short adjournment, Commissioner Clyde-Smith, sitting with Jurats Pamela Pitman and Charles Blampied, granted the application under the condition that the transfer happens as soon as is practical and that the defendant remains in custody during the period he is there.
The Commissioner also stipulated that, on his return to Jersey Mr Nisbet will have to return to HMP La Moye.
Mr Nisbet will appear again before the Royal Court on Friday 20 September at 10:00.
