Murder detectives appeal for CCTV footage

Tuesday 29 May 2018

Murder investigators appealing to individuals and retailers for CCTV footage that could help them trace the final movements of a Hungarian woman found dead on a St. Ouen beach earlier this month.

37-year-old Zsuzsanna Besenyei had been reported missing, but her body was found days later on the sand at La Pulec on 16 May. Her car was found fully submerged in water 500 metres away from La Haule slip in St. Brelade after being driven into the bay at low tide.

Post-mortem results were inconclusive, but Police are treating the death as suspicious and have since arrested and charged 54-year-old Jamie Lee Warn – who was known to Zsuzsanna – with her murder and perverting the course of justice.

Over 100 leads are being followed and up to 20 officers are working on the investigation, named 'Operation Duke'.

They’re now seeking footage taken from road-facing cameras in the areas of Maufant, First Tower and Pomme D’Or Farm Estate recorded overnight from between 17:00 on 10 May and 08:00 on 11 May, and footage from the Pomme D’Or Farm Estate area captured between 20:00 and 21:30 on 13 May.

Islanders with access to such footage are being urged to contact DC Wintour on 612398 or via email (m.wintour@jersey.pnn.police.uk).
