Jersey Police have charged a 51-year-old man with murder, following an incident on Friday night.
Michael Charles Brown will appear in the magistrate's court tomorrow morning.
It follows the death of a 73-year-old from multiple stab wounds at a property in Vauxhall Street in town.
The dead man's name has so far not been released. He was discovered by a passer-by just after 19:30, and was treated by paramedics at the scene, but died later in hospital.
A team of 12 officers, led by Detective Chief Inspector Alison Fossey is working on the case, and so far they been conducting house to house enquires, interviewing witnesses and reviewing CCTV.
