Police have arrested more than 20 people after launching a major crackdown on organised crime and drug offences in the wake of a teenager's death due to suspected MDMA use earlier this month.
'Operation Shark' was launched in the week following the passing of 19-year-old James Le Bourgeois on 14 February.
He was he second local person to die after suspected use of the drug in the last six months following the passing of Ashleigh Thomas Green in August.
At the time of Operation Shark's launch last Friday (21 February), Chief Inspector Mark Hafey said that the force had netted over a dozen suspects, £24,000 worth of drugs and £15,000 in cash in a week.
Police have now announced that, since then, they've made a further 13 arrests for drug-related offences, including three for possession with intent to supply, bringing the total to over 25.

They have also executed six search warrants, and generated over 20 intelligence reports, while also seizing cannabis and cocaine worth approximately £6,000 and £1,000 respectively.
Chief Inspector Mark Hafey, Operation Shark Lead, commented: “Whilst we continue to work hard to identify those involved in drug crime, we know that drugs are part of society, but we need to make sure that people are also informed so that those choosing to use drugs can make educated decisions.
"That said, it is illegal, a drugs conviction will result in a criminal record and possibly a prison sentence. It can also seriously affect career prospects and future travel opportunities."

The Chief Inspector went on to renew his message to the public to be the Polcie's "eyes and ears".
