A variety of States websites and IT systems have crashed this morning, following a loss of power in their data centre - it comes on the day the emergency services are already stretched dealing with incidents caused by the bad weather.
It's not been confirmed when the power problem happened, or why - States IT engineers said that critical systems were being restored just before 10:30.
The power loss took down the main States website, gov.je, as well as the Jersey Airport site and the Harbours site - making it more difficult for passengers to keep a track of travel disruption - as well as meaning the Ambulance service is now relying on back-up systems.
The States posted a tweet this morning saying the IT issues are causing problems across many government systems this morning, but they will have power restored as soon as possible.
Power loss in our IT data centre is causing problems across many States of Jersey IT systems & websites this morning. Additional staff have been called in & are working with IT systems engineers to restore systems ASAP, prioritising the most critical.

That was updated just before 10:30, as services began to be restored.
Update - Most critical systems are back up and IT services are being restored to normal. Some systems and websites are still having issues but the Information Services team are working hard to recover these.

The power loss comes at a bad time for the emergency services who are already under pressure dealing with incidents caused by the bad weather - the wind is expected to reach gale force 9 for the second day in a row. Islanders are being urged to dial 999 only if it is a genuine emergency. Firefighters have been dealing with problems caused by flooding and fallen trees.

Emergency services are being stretched today due to adverse weather conditions and a computer system issue. Our back up plans are in place but please only call 999 for genuine emergencies. Patient Transport Service is also affected by IT issues, apologies for this disruption
