Caring families given relaxation opportunity

Saturday 19 October 2019

Friends and families that normally spend their time caring for a loved one with dementia are being invited on a special 'treat' day.

Now in its third year, Le Masurier in partnership with Jersey Alzheimer’s is offering caring islanders the opportunity to enjoy a day of relaxation and forging friendships with others in a similar situation.

'Recharger Day', as the event is being called, will be held at the royal yacht on Saturday 26 October.

Guests will be welcomed from 9:00 for coffee and pastries and can then enjoy pre-booked treatments in the Le Masurier Recharger pop-up spa.

This will be followed by 'laughing yoga' and a two-course lunch. There will also be a raffle at the end of the day, and all carers will leave with a goodie bag.

Guests can come for all of the 'Recharger Day' or just a part of It.

Brian McCarthy, Managing Director of Le Masurier acknowledged the value of the carers, saying: "The work of all carers can be lost to public view with so many people just getting on with it looking after the needs of loved ones.

"Le Masurier Recharger Day recognises the necessity to offer a break and a little time to bring some focus and fun. We are delighted to be able to make a contribution to this and delighted to partner with Jersey Alzheimer’s once again."
