Senior board appointment at Jersey Post

Jersey Post has appointed Clive Barton to its board of directors as the Senior Independent Director.

Mr Barton is the senior partner with accountancy practice Moore Stephens and has responsibility for the Moore Stephens Offshore Group, which comprises of Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar. He is a former Director of Jersey Finance Limited and holds an Honorary Doctorate from Plymouth University for his services to Education.

He also holds a number of honorary positions including Procureur du Bien Publique for the Parish of St Helier, Chairman of the Board of Governors of Victoria College, Trustee of the Victoria College Foundation, member of the Board of Governors of Highlands College and Jersey Arts in Healthcare Trust. Mr Barton was awarded an MBE in the Queen’s New Year honours list of January 2014 for services to the community.

The Non-Executive Chairman of Jersey Post, Mike Liston, said: "We are very pleased to welcome Clive to the board of directors of Jersey Post. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience of both the business and community sectors, both of which are extremely important to our business.’

Mr Barton has taken the position left vacant by Tim Brown, who has been appointed Chief Executive Officer.
