Two office buildings will be converted into flats in St Peter Port.

Eton House, in Rue du Pre, will be reconfigured to house 12 flats, while No. 1 Le Marchant Street will be converted into 11.

Planning permission has been given for both redevelopments with conditions including bicycle parking, landscaping, and – in the case of Eton House – a ban on the use of noisy stone crushing material.

RDP Limited applied for permission to convert Eton House, saying it is currently unused as office space.

The building used to be home to accountancy firm BDO before it moved to Admiral Park.

With 11,138 square feet of space over three floors, and space for 19 cars onsite, the building will now be converted into 12 flats comprising seven one-bed, and five two-bedroom apartments.

All of the alterations will be internal.

Le Marchant House will be subject to a similar operation, with the majority of the approved work taking place inside the building.

It already contains some flats, but more will be added to create 11 in total, with a mix of one- and two-bed flats.

A new dormer window will be added to the building.

Le Marchant House has not been used for offices for over three years, with Watts Property Consultants saying they’ve been unable to find a tenant.

Both Le Marchant House and Eton House are described as meeting the criteria for a “satisfactory quality of residential environment” under planning policies.
