The States of Alderney Chief Executive’s Office has sent a letter to Gordon Owen of Braye Harbour Developments, asking that he progress plans which meet the island’s economic and operational objectives for the project.

As well as the marina, the plans will also include waterfront houses with private berths, which are expected to attract high new worth boat owners to the island. It is hoped the properties will help to fund the majority of the project and, at this stage, the cost to the States of Alderney is expected to be small.
Braye Harbour Developments has attempted to develop the area before, after it was given preferred bidder status for the planned project in 2012. But, just two years later, the firm lost that contract.
There are currently 70 visitors’ mooring buoys available for use at Braye Harbour, with a slipway offering land access.
