The 2025 General Election team needs two people with “integrity and initiative” to be polling station officers.

They’ll have to ensure the voting process is carried out fairly and smoothly.

Election day is on Wednesday 18 June, with advanced polling on Sunday 15 and Tuesday 17 June.

Officers are required to oversee activity at the polling stations from 07:30 until 20:30 and will also be required to attend the start of the vote count on Thursday 19 June at Beau Sejour.

Help is needed at Les Maingys Activity Centre and St Sampson’s Church Community Hall polling stations.

“Each polling station for the General Election must have an appointed Polling Station Officer who is responsible for the conduct of the ballot, the staff and voters in their respective polling station,” a States spokesperson said.

“They have an important role in ensuring the integrity, transparency, and efficiency of the electoral process.”

Experience of elections and knowledge of electoral processes are desirable but not essential.

Polling Station Officers will be officially sworn in before the Royal Court on Monday 14 April.

Volunteers need to attend a briefing session prior to the General Election. These will take place at St Martin’s Community Centre in May. Each Polling Station Officer is required to attend only one briefing.
