Art for Guernsey is hosting a free, family-friendly street party on Saturday.

It’s to celebrate the end of their ‘Diversion’ street art project, which opened earlier this summer.

The project has featured an exhibition of contemporary art at the charity’s Mansell Street gallery, whilst also spilling out into the surrounding streets, with a summer-long initiative to turn the Old Quarter into a canvas, with artists creating murals and artworks on the derelict buildings.

Diversion has involved a number of international artists, including Teddy Baden, Leo Boyd, and Charlie Mcfarley, alongside many locally based artists such as Ross le Brun, Tim Gaudion, and Luke Gallie.

Express reporter, Luke Webb, was one of the local artists involved, and you can read all about his experience HERE.

The Art for Guernsey holiday club has also been teaching local children the history of street art, and murals, even delving into the earliest examples such as cave paintings and hieroglyphics.

The Summer Party event is a chance to see the street art, and will include activities like face painting, music, and arts and crafts.
