A 49-year-old man has appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today charged with attempted murder.
Kevin Mauger was remanded in custody by the court during his brief initial appearance.
He was arrested by police officers on Tuesday and officially charged overnight.
Following the court hearing, Guernsey Police issued a statement, confirming that no one else in the community was believed to be in danger.
“We would like to take this opportunity to reassure the public that there is no evidence of any ongoing risk to anyone in the community,” a spokesperson said.
“We can also confirm this is not related to any other recent incident,” they said.
