A 20-year-old woman has been charged with attempted murder.
Guernsey Police confirmed on Tuesday morning that the young woman had been charged – just over 48 hours after she had been taken into custody following an incident on Victoria Avenue.
Shakira Naftel appeared before the Magistrate’s Court, where she was remanded in custody until her next court appearance in May.
The victim of the alleged attempted murder is believed to be Ms Naftel’s mother.
She was “urgently transferred to hospital” on Sunday, where she remained in a “serious but stable condition” on Monday morning, said a spokesperson for Guernsey Police.
It’s understood she had suffered “severe abdominal injuries”.
