Aurigny has joined forces with Emirates, the largest international airline in the Middle East, to create a new interline agreement, offering Channel Island residents ‘seamless access’ to global destinations through a single booking.

Interline agreements allow passengers to change from one flight on one airline to another flight on another airline without having to gather their bags or check-in again.

Through this agreement, Aurigny is hoping to simplify off-island travel, and eliminate the hassle of arranging separate itineraries for long-haul journeys.

Luggage will also be transferred from Aurigny flights to Emirates flights, ensuring a stress-free experience for travellers, said the local airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, Sudeep Ghai.

“This partnership with Emirates is an exciting step change in travel possibilities for Aurigny and the people of Guernsey. We are very pleased to provide access to Emirates’ exceptional network on Emirates.com. By providing connections over Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester, we will facilitate one-stop access to two-thirds of the world’s population within 8 hours flying from Dubai.”

The agreement will benefit both inbound and outbound passengers, said Aurigny.

Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer at Emirates, agreed.

“We are proud to be working with Aurigny to provide a more seamless booking experience for the people of Guernsey. No matter where they decide to travel with us, they’ll be able to enjoy our unparalleled experiences onboard and on-ground with a single ticket booking.”
