The Bailiff of Guernsey, Jessica Roland, has become the new Patron of Citizens Advice Guernsey.

To mark the occasion, Ms Roland visited the charity, where she met staff and volunteers and learned more about the wide range of services it provides across the Bailiwick.

Ali Marquis, Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Advice Guernsey, said: “We are honoured to welcome Ms Roland as our new Patron.

“Her visit provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the dedication and expertise of our staff and volunteers, as well as the positive impact our services have on the lives of islanders every day.

“We are grateful for her interest and support, and we look forward to working with her to raise awareness of the importance of accessible, independent, free advice across the community.”

During the visit, Ms Roland learned more about the charity’s work supporting individuals and families with issues including debt, housing, employment, benefits, consumer matters and family relationships.

Citizens Advice Guernsey thanked Ms Roland for visiting the charity and meeting the team, and said it looked forward to working with her in the years ahead.

Ms Roland was sworn in as Guernsey’s 91st Bailiff in September, becoming the first woman to hold the role in its nearly 750-year history.
