Staff at Beau Sejour are still dealing with the aftermath of the leisure centre being closed for almost a week.
It had to close after Legionella bacteria was found in the water system last Tuesday, 15 September.
The closure was extended over last weekend before it reopened on Monday morning.
With thousands of people using the leisure centre each week, some have asked about refunds because they couldn’t use the facilities, while ticketed and non-ticketed events due to be held there were also cancelled.
Operations and Events Manager Penny Weaver said anyone with a query over a refund or being unable to use their membership while the leisure centre was closed should speak to staff at the reception desk.
“Due to the various different membership arrangements available at Beau Sejour, we recommend that anyone with questions or concerns about their membership should come and speak to a member of our reception team the next time they are at the centre using their membership, who will be more than happy to help.
“The ticketed event which was cancelled was the ‘Music of Tina Turner’ tribute show. We are back in the building and exploring now the possibility of rescheduling this event.”
She said staff would be in contact with ticket holders as soon as possible to explain their options.
“The ‘Paws for Support’ dog show was not ticketed, but that has unfortunately been cancelled.,” she added.

The bacteria is believed to have initially been discovered in the swimming pool changing area, after it was announced last Monday that the ladies’ changing and shower room would be closed the next morning for “essential repair work following a leaking tap”.
On Tuesday afternoon it was announced that “routine testing … has detected Legionella bacteria in the water system, which can occasionally cause Legionnaires’ Disease”.
Public Health confirmed that they did not know of any cases of Legionnaire’s Disease in the community but advice was issued to anyone who had used the showers at Beau Sejour during the previous two weeks.
