The Norman Market will return to Guernsey next week, bringing French fromage, saucissons and tartiflette to the Bailiwick. (That’s cheese, sausages and potato casserole for any Anglophiles among you)

As well as their usual spot in St Peter Port, the Norman traders have been invited to pitch at the West Show for the first time.

They will set up shop at L’Eree Aerodrome, St Peter’s, on 19 and 20 August for Guernsey’s second country show of the summer.

Then on Friday they’ll move to Victoria Crown Pier, in town where they’ll stay until Sunday lunchtime – packing up at 13:00 in time to say ‘au revoir‘ before their ferry home.

Calvados, biscuits, cheese, wine, olives and much more will be available to purchase.

Meanwhile, freshly made crêpes and french cider can be bought while visitors browse the produce and practice their French.

Stallholders will also be seeing French jewellery, hats, and wooden games for children and adults alike.
