The cavalcade was first staged on 9 May 1946 and continued until 1950. The idea was revived in the ’70s by a group of local historians and businessmen, with an ‘enhanced’ Liberation cavalcade being held every five years since.
“We would like to encourage as many family and friends, community groups and local businesses to come together and take part in the 75th Anniversary Cavalcade,” said Head of Marketing, Events and Sports, Nikki Symons. “Together we can make it the best one ever.”

A mix of military and vintage vehicles will join together with floats of all sizes for the parade.
Entry forms should be in by 31 March 2020 and all floats will be invited to compete for the Cecil de Sausmarez Memorial Trophy.
The Guernsey Military Vehicle Cavalcade will depart from L’Ancresse, travelling along the coast on its way to St Peter Port. It will then form a static display at North Beach Car Park where visitors can view the participating vehicles.
