Lunchtime today will see the 2026 edition of the Liberation Day Cavalcade set off around the island, with more than 100 different military vehicles, classic cars, tractors, and bikes taking part.

Celebrating 81 years since the end of the Occupation, the cavalcade will be setting off from the start point at Torteval Church at 12:15.

It will then head towards the Imperial hotel and Rocquaine before making its way up the west coast passing L’Eree, Vazon, Cobo, Grandes Rocques.

The cavalcade should hit its halfway point at the Vale Church around 13:30.

Unlike previous years, this year’s cavalcade will see the introduction of a small rest stop for the vehicles, and their drivers, with a break scheduled to take place at Pembroke from 13:40 to 14:30.

After that they’ll be on the home straight, trundling along Guernsey’s east coast, before finishing on the town Quay around 15.00.

Most of the vehicles will then be in town for a couple hours as part of a static display, for anyone that wants a closer look.

As in previous years, those unable to see the cavalcade in person will be able to watch a live stream of the vehicles heading in to town with commentary from Express reporter Luke Webb.

The live stream is available through the official Liberation Day Facebook page and livestreams.
