A series of mainly uncontested elections has seen Guernsey’s new deputies assigned to committee roles.
On Friday, the Policy and Resources President saw all of her preferred candidates elected to the committee presidencies.
Five of Deputy Lindsay de Sausmarez’s nominees were elected unopposed, with the two elections needed also leading to Deputy de Sausmarez’s candidates winning through.

First-time deputies George Oswald, Paul Montague, and Steve Williams were elected as President of the committees for Health and Social Care, Education, Sport, and Culture, and Housing respectively.
Former committee members deputies Sasha Kazantseva-Miller, Tina Bury, Adrian Gabriel, and Marc Leadbeater were elected as Presidents of Economic Development, Employment and Social Security, Environment and Infrastructure, and Home Affairs.
Deputy Yvonne Burford was elected President of the Development and Planning Authority, Deputy Mark Helyar was elected President of the States Trading Supervisory Board, and Deputy John Gollop was elected President of the Transport Licencing Authority.
New deputies Andy Sloan and Jennifer Strachan were given the presidencies of Scrutiny Management and the Overseas Aid and Development Committee, while Deputy Sarah Hansmann Rouxel was elected President of the States Assembly and Constitution Committee.
Only the elections for Economic Development and Home Affairs were contested with Deputy Kazantseva-Miller supported over Deputy Chris Blin, and Deputy Leadbeater defeating both deputies Jayne Ozanne and Simon Vermeulen to the presidency.
Sasha Kazantseva-Miller defated Chris Blin to land the top job at Economic Development.
The committee members were elected on Monday morning, and aside from the Committee for Home Affairs, all were uncontested.
Deputy Rob Curgenven was defeated in the election for a seat on Home Affairs, with Deputy Simon Vermeulen elected instead.
