A local business is counting the cost after 18 vehicles were damaged with Guernsey Police now looking for those responsible.

The “significant damage” is believed to have been caused between 04:00 and 05:00 on Wednesday 28 May.

The vehicles all belonged to, or were in the care of, GM Motors owned by Mike Graham. His business is based at Thompson Motors on Route de L’Eglise in the Castel.

He told Express that the damaged cars are a mixture of ones owned by him and customer cars, including some vehicles that were recently sold and were waiting to be collected by their new owners.

“I’m feeling, angry, upset and annoyed,” he said. “In fact I’m feeling sick.

“I don’t understand how anyone can do this. My staff, friends, family, and customers have been so supportive even those whose cars were in my possession whilst being or waiting to be serviced. I think that was the hardest part, letting them know.

“I hope the persons/s that did this get caught and get punished. This is just wrong.”

Guernsey Police said they’ve got CCTV from Thompson Motors to go through to look for clues, and they would like to speak with any potential witnesses who may have seen or heard the incident, or been around the area of the garage early on Wednesday morning.

“If you have any information regarding this incident you are asked to contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 222 222 or to contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111,” said Guernsey Police.
