Charities in the Bailiwick will soon be able to apply for funding from this year’s ‘Dougie’s Grant’.
The grant was established following the death of a local entrepreneur, Douglas Le Huquet, in 2021.
The £10,000 was first granted to Mill Street Community Café.
Since then it has funded computers at Guille-Allès Library and equipment for The Pollinator Project to help its restoration of Fort Field.
Michelle Knowle, Dougie’s daughter, said: “I know that Dad would be very pleased with what is being done in his memory to help others. I am very much looking forward to reading this year’s applications.”
Charities can submit their applications between 1 October and 31 October for the 2026 grant. They must clearly demonstrate a specific Guernsey-based project that would benefit from the funding.
Further information about the grant and how to apply can be found on the Dougie’s Grant website.
