The Fire and Rescue Service were called to deal with a first floor fire at a home in the heavily residential area at 14:30 on 14 September.
Luckily no one had been home at the time the fire had started and no one was injured.
While the fire was quickly put out, it’s still not clear how it started.
The Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the fire was within a cupboard where the hot water cylinder was on the landing of the first floor.
A spokesperson for GFRS said their enquiries are ongoing.
“Two fire appliances and a Duty Officer were deployed to this incident,” said the spokesperson. “On arrival crews were met with smoke issuing from the 1st floor bathroom window and roof space.
“Crews, wearing breathing apparatus entered the property with a hosereel hose, where they discovered the fire originating from the hot water cylinder cupboard on the landing, and extinguished the fire very quickly. A positive pressure ventilation fan was then used to clear the property of residual smoke.
“Police assisted the Fire Service with road closures and St Johns Ambulance and Rescue Service attended and stood by as a precautionary measure but were not needed.
“Fortunately, nobody was in the property at the time of the incident. The cause of the fire has still to be established.”
