Guernsey’s marine ambulance faced a frantic week last week, responding to four urgent medical cases across Sark, Alderney and Herm in as many days.
The Flying Christine’s run of callouts began on Tuesday with a patient transfer from Alderney’s Mignot Memorial Hospital.
By Thursday, the marine ambulance was deployed to Herm to collect a patient who was met in Guernsey by a road ambulance and taken to hospital.
The final two rescues took place on Friday in Sark.
The crew handled a morning medical evacuation requested by the local doctor, before returning that afternoon to rescue an injured person using a basket stretcher.
A spokesperson thanked the volunteer boat crews who give their time for free to keep the lifeline service running.
The Flying Christine III is a charity ambulance funded by donations, subscriptions, and charges.
