The acquisition is the latest venture by the Arts Commission, with the Gallery now acting as a “permanent vibrant venue” in the Market Building.
Guernsey Arts have previously used the building regularly, working with the Gallery’s management.
With the latest agreement now in place, it will be managed full time by the Guernsey Arts team on a year round basis.

Doors will open for the first exhibition under the new tenants this evening (19 September), from 17:30, as the Guernsey Arts Student Show get’s underway.

“We are incredibly excited about the opportunities that The George Crossan Gallery presents,” he said. “This new space will allow us to expand our collective community and heritage exhibitions, whilst we continue to support individual artist exhibitions at the Greenhouse Gallery.”
The investment has been made possible thanks to sponsorship from The Swallow 2018 Charitable Trust, and their Chairman Stephen Ainsworth, is confident the space will be well used and properly utilised.
