A Guernsey-born Drag artist is set to take to the stage at the 23rd Download festival, one of the biggest metal festivals in the UK.
Monroe Adams will be performing as part of District X, which serves as a campsite entertainment hub located within the festival grounds.
District X will be featuring the 90s boyband Five, acoustic sets from The All-American Rejects, and DJ sets from Dick and Dom, Creeper, and MODESTEP.
They told Express: “I’m incredibly excited to be performing at Download Festival for a third year running!
“The last two years I have helped host the crowd favourite ‘Drag Emo Karaoke’ but this year we’re bringing a full alternative drag cabaret to the Ace of Spades tavern stage instead!”
The metal festival annually caters to more people than Guernsey’s residential population, with estimates suggesting that around 100,000 people attended last year’s outing.
“I absolutely adore this festival and getting to bring our little slice of chaotic queer joy really helps kick the festival off with a bang!,” said Monroe Adams.
“I believe this will also be the first time a full drag cabaret show is performed at Download Festival so I’m very honoured to be involved.”
