Victoria Park is preparing to welcome the community this weekend as the ‘home of Guernsey football’ celebrates its first birthday.
A series of events are taking place over the next two days to mark a year since the stadium opened its gates for the first time.
On Saturday 28 March, Guernsey FC’s men’s team will kick off the celebrations, when they take on Peacehaven & Telscombe. Kick off is at 14:30.
The Green Lions are currently fourth in the Isthmian South Central Division while Peacehaven are just one point behind them in fifth place. Guernsey have a game in hand on the visitors.

To commemorate the first birthday of their home ground, Guernsey FC has donated free tickets to schools across the Bailiwick.
In addition, half the profits from the match’s 50/50 draw will be donated to Victoria Park’s Charity Partner, Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association, which will be collecting donations on the day.
On Sunday 29 March, Victoria Park will host a Girls’ Community Football Festival in the morning.
Organised by the Guernsey FA, the event will showcase the growing popularity of girls’ football in the island. The girls’ festival will be followed in the afternoon by a Victoria Park 3v3 Football Tournament for Year 3 and Year 4 players.

Nick Graham, Victoria Park Steering Committee Chair, said: “It’s incredible to think of how much we’ve achieved in the space of a year – our expectations have been well and truly exceeded. Victoria Park has quickly become a place for the whole community and we felt it only fitting to organise a weekend that brought everyone together, from our Green Lions and their loyal fans to the grassroots players of tomorrow.
“We are so grateful for the support of our sponsors, dedication of our volunteers, and the continued enthusiasm of Guernsey’s football fans and we hope these anniversary celebrations will be testament to our gratitude.”
