Guernsey’s Lieutenant-Governor is hoping more businesses and organisations will enter the King’s Award for Enterprise – after Camp de Rêves became the first winner from the Bailiwick this year.

Lieutenant General Sir Richard Cripwell CB CBE, hosted an event at Government House last week to celebrate Camp de Rêves success as the winner in the sustainable category.

The awards aim to recognise outstanding businesses in International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development, and Promoting Opportunity (through social mobility).

The Chamber of Commerce and Guernsey’s Committee for Economic Development are also actively encouraging and supporting local businesses to apply, highlighting the significant benefits and national recognition that come with the award.

“We were proud to support Camp de Rêves through their application journey and thrilled to see them recognised at the highest level.

Ms Gill continued: “We know Guernsey has no shortage of deserving businesses—from innovators to exporters to social enterprises—and we are here to help guide them through the process. The Award offers more than prestige—it opens doors.”

ED Committee President, Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller said she also thinks it’s a great way for local businesses to gain recognition they deserve.

“The King’s Award for Enterprise is one of the highest honours in UK business and it puts Guernsey’s entrepreneurial talent on the national stage.

Deputy Kazantseva-Miller added: “Camp de Rêves is a shining example – and together with Chamber we are determined to support others in pursuing similar recognition, demonstrating the strength, creativity, and ambition of our island’s economy.”
