The issue has not affected the salted butter packets and the previous batch of unsalted butter also remains unaffected.

“I can reassure all of our customers that there is no cause for concern, even if you have already consumed the butter in question,” said Guernsey Dairy Managing Director Andrew Tabel.
“We take the quality of our products very seriously, which is the primary reason for withdrawing this particular batch from sale as a precautionary measure.”
He said that while the levels of bacteria discovered are higher than expected, they still fall well within the food standard requirements.
It is believed that approximately 2,000 packs from the batch are still in circulation.
