Guernsey Dairy recently announced the gate price of butter was going up 5% from today while the wholesale price of ice cream was going up 10%
It will be the second increase in the wholesale price of Guernsey Butter in less than a year.
In November 2017 the gate price was increased by 13%, meaning butter has been subject to an 18% rise in eight months.
The retail price of butter was around £1.55 last week.
