Guernsey Police are looking for dash cam or other footage filmed near Amherst Primary School just before 09:00 today.
Officers are investigating reports of a possible hit and run that took place at around 08:50 on Friday 6 February.
A crossing guard for the school was struck by a white single cab pick up truck with aluminium sides on its rear bed as he manned the filter junction of Rouge Rue, Mont Arrive, and Amherst road at a time when lots of people would have been in the area.
The school day at Amherst starts at between 08:30 and 08:45 meaning parents and carers may have been leaving the area immediately around the school when the incident happened.
The road junction itself is often busy, and Guernsey Police has said it was busy at the time of this alleged incident.
“The vehicle has failed to stop at the scene of the incident and officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed what happened or anyone with dash cam footage from that time and place,” said a police spokesperson.
“It is reported that the filter junction was busy with traffic at the time,” they added.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, has dash cam footage, or any other information regarding the alleged hit and run is asked to contact PC 178 Dan Osborne on 222 222 quoting reference number OC2600000929.
