It happened earlier during Island Games week and is reported to have happened near the ‘chill in the park’ village that has been created at the softball pitch area to the side of Beau Sejour for the athletes and spectators to use.
Earlier the same day a tree had been planted to mark the NatWest International Island Games. It was damaged that same evening and has since been replanted.
A spoeksperson for Guernsey Police said:
“On Tuesday evening police were called to reports of a fight outside of Beau Sejour. During the course of that fight the Island Games tree was uprooted, but has since been replanted. Enquiries are ongoing.”
