The first phase focused on the first 11 holes and the new driving range. The in-development academy will have ten driving bays and a tuition studio.

A spokesperson for La Grande Mare said:

“Work is progressing well and the area of the golf course, where work has concentrated over the summer, is unrecognisable with new tee boxes, greens, bunkers and lakes. The unseasonal weather has meant that some work originally planned for Phase 1 of the golf course has been moved into Phase 2 but we are on schedule to finish in 2025.

“We are delighted that after a competitive tender process that Ravenscroft has been appointed to be the lead contractor on Phase 1 of the buildings. They are already on site and making good progress with that work expected to finish in autumn 2024.”

With Phase Two of the project beginning in Spring, the golf course and driving range will be closed on 8 January.
