The crew of one fishing boat helped another after an incident on Sunday morning near rocks off Guernsey’s south east coast.
The stricken boat was drifting into danger, when the St Peter Port lifeboat arrived to tow it back to safety.
It was later found that detritus had become wrapped around its propeller.
The second local fishing boat had radioed the coastguard for help just after 09:45, as it was unable to tow the stricken boat away from rocks near St Martin’s Point and the tide was falling.
They told the coastguard they had taken one of the two-person crew aboard.
The lifeboat arrived less than half an hour later and was able to free up the propeller, before towing the boat – which had lost power – and its remaining crew member back to St Peter Port Harbour.
Simon Granger, Duty SAR Mission Coordinator, said: “This incident was quickly and safely resolved with no injuries and no damage to vessels, thanks to the assistance of another local fishing vessel and the fast response of the lifeboat.”
