The Duke of Richmond Hotel has been sold by the Red Carnation Group, with the Little Big Hotel Group buying it for an undisclosed fee.
The Little Big Group already owns the Fleur du Jardin, The Peninsula Hotel, and Les Douvres, as well as the nightclub Canvas, the Little Big Brew Co., the Little Green Energy company, and marine environmental specialists, Blue Parameters.
With the Duke of Richmond Hotel now in its ownership too, the Group said we can expect to see plenty of changes there.
“This isn’t your typical hotel takeover. It’s about reimagining a classic with modern energy, blending heritage with a laid-back vibe that makes guests feel right at home – but with top-notch service and an unbeatable location.
“Think chic interiors, craft cocktails, and a place you’ll never want to leave.”
Charlie Walker, Managing Director at the Little Big Hotel Group added that although there will be changes, they’ll be aiming to keep the hotel’s current charm.
“The Duke of Richmond has this incredible charm, and we can’t wait to elevate it while keeping its unique personality intact,” she said. “We’re all about making places feel vibrant, welcoming, and – most importantly – memorable.”

The Duke of Richmond was bought by Red Carnation in 2011.
Historic records show that in September of that year the hotel and four staff houses changed hands for £4million.
While the sale price this time round is remaining under wraps, the CEO of Red Carnation Hotels said the deal marks the start of an “exciting new chapter” for its other hotel in Guernsey.
The Old Government House Hotel has already seen recent upgrades in its AV infrastructure with further investment planned, said Jonathan Ragget.
“The sale of The Duke of Richmond Hotel unlocks an exciting new chapter for The Old Government House Hotel.
“As Guernsey’s first and only five-star hotel, The Old Government House is set for a significant renovation that will elevate its legacy and set a new standard for luxury on the island.
“This strategic investment follows the successful launch of 100 Princes Street in Edinburgh and the upcoming enhancements to the Chesterfield Hotel in Mayfair, further underscoring our commitment to exceptional properties and unparalleled guest experiences.”
