Online tax returns for 2024 can be filled in now, while anyone wanting to fill in a paper form will have to wait until May for them to be available.
The Revenue Service has confirmed that this is part of ongoing efforts to encourage people to submit their returns online.
“We’re really pleased that the vast majority of people in Guernsey submitted their 2023 tax return online, with 78% choosing to do so,” said Head of Service Delivery, Scott Bloomfield.
“This saves time and resources for our teams meaning that we can focus on completing and issuing assessments,” he said.

The push to get more people filing their returns online is part of wider efforts to speed up the assessment process, because it means Revenue Service staff don’t have to manually input the lengthy paper forms.
The Revenue Service says this saves time, giving staff more room to focus on processing more complex returns.
“Completing online is also better for customers as they don’t have to pick up or drop off a paper form and they can use an online form which is pre-populated and easily tailored to people’s circumstances,” said Mr Bloomfield. “While most people submit their returns online, we know that some people find this difficult and not everyone has access to the internet, which is why paper forms will still be made available.
“The deadline for 2024 tax returns is 30th November this year, and so we’d encourage people to complete their online returns as soon as possible. Doing so will provide our customers with plenty of time to get any support and beat the rush that will inevitably come as the deadline approaches.
“We’re pleased to again offer plenty of drop-ins throughout this year to provide the support that people need to complete their returns.”
