Anyone heading into the sea is reminded to check conditions and the weather before entering the water after a kitesurfer needed rescuing.
A member of the public called for help after spotting the kitesurfer in trouble off the north coast at Fort Le Marchant on Thursday afternoon.
The RNLI inshore lifeboat was launched at 13:14, reaching the casualty just 15 minutes later.
The exhausted kitesurfer was recovered safely and did not require medical treatment with the lifeboat back in service by 13:56.
Search Mission Coordinator, Kieran Higgs, credited the “quick actions of a vigilant member of the public” for the positive result.
“This was a positive outcome thanks to the quick actions of a vigilant member of the public and the professional response of the RNLI lifeboat crew.
“We would always encourage anyone who sees someone in difficulty at sea to call 999 and ask for the Coastguard immediately.”
