Sark was liberated from five years of German Occupation 81-years ago today.
The island’s commemorations will start at 11:40 with a parade from La Colinette, along The Avenue to St Peter’s Church, followed by an outdoor ceremony at the church at 12:00 – including a two-minute silence and wreath laying.
The procession and ceremony will feature a contingent of the 4th Battalion Princess of Wales Royal Regiment, with His Excellency Lt. Gen. Sir Richard Cripwell KBE СВ joining.
The newly-dedicated Royal Guernsey Light Infantry Colours will also be on display, along with standards from Sark and Guernsey.
After this, there will be a three-course lunch at the Island Hall with special guests attending alongside those who lived through the Occupation.
