Five much-loved dolphins have made a surprise comeback – and in doing so have raised an extra £3,000 for two of Guernsey’s best-known charities.

A second chance to secure the one-of-a-kind artworks from this year’s Dolphin Discovery Trail in aid of the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey emerged after three of the sculptures were donated back to the charities to be re-auctioned off, and a couple of sales secured in the summer event eventually fell through, resulting in two more dolphins being put up for grabs

Steve Byrne, GSPCA Manager, said: “These five dolphins were truly special, and this auction gave a fantastic way to support two charities that make a huge difference locally. Both Autism Guernsey and the GSPCA are hugely grateful to all involved and supported this amazing event and watch out for news on the next big event.”

Andrew Sparkes, Autism Guernsey Director, added: “Every bid and support in the Dolphin Discovery Trail has helped us continue our work supporting individuals and families affected by autism in Guernsey.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported the trail – your generosity has been amazing.”

Meet the re-auctioned dolphins…

Each of the 62 dolphins in the 2025 Dolphin Discovery Trail was a one-of-a-kind creation, decorated by talented local artists and sponsored by generous businesses.

The summer sale of the dolphins raised £80,000 to be shared between the GSPCA and Autism Guernsey, with an additional £3,000 raised by the auction of Libby, Dylan Jeremy, Jasper, Vern, and Ocori-finn…
