A replica of the first ship to sail around the world will be docking in St Peter Port.
The Nao Victoria will open its decks to the public between Monday 7 and Sunday 20 September, between 10:00 and 20:00. It will be closed on 12, 13 and 18 September.
The ship operates as a floating museum, and the Nao Victoria Foundation will be running self-guided tours from the Cruise Tenders Pontoon on Albert Pier.

“Opportunities to host the replica of a vessel of such historical significance are rare, and her visit will provide islanders and visitors alike with a unique chance to experience a fascinating piece of maritime history.
“As an island community with a strong connection to the sea, Guernsey has always valued its maritime heritage, and we are pleased to support initiatives that bring that heritage to life in an engaging and accessible way.”
The original Nao Victoria completed the world’s first circumnavigation of the globe between 1519 and 1522.
Under the command of Juan Sebastián Elcano and after three years of suffering at sea, a crew of 18 men became the first to cross the oceans aboard the vessel and reveal the true size of the Earth.
The replica was built in 1992 in Seville, where the original ship sailed from.
It completed its own circumnavigation of the globe between 2004 and 2006, sailing an impressive 26,894 nautical miles – enough to go to Sark and back more and 1,492 times!
