In 2001 it was first agreed that Ebenezer could be rebuilt as a community centre and church, while in 2009 planning permission was given for eight apartments to be built there.
In 2014, permission was given for 12 apartments to be built – with permission also given for outer buildings within the grounds of Ebenezer to be demolished to allow for the larger development.
The planning permission now being acted upon is for 17 apartments to be created by using the main building, outbuildings and the land within the site’s boundary.

Livingroom is advertising the “stunning Ebenezer development” which it says will be “carefully crafted from the former Brock Road Methodist Church” which dates back to 1878.
The 17 new apartments are said to provide “stunning, restored character features working in synchronicity with the very latest modern inclusions”.
The development will be over three floors, offering one and two bedroom flats, which will each be unique. Parking will be allocated for each apartment.
