The Admiral Park traffic lights are due to be fixed this weekend after a faulty part has led to long delays for motorists at peak times.
The ‘vehicle detecting loops’ are being replaced – with a “critical component” having finally arrived in the island this week.
The work this weekend will be carried out on the southbound lane to the north of the junction, which means that southbound traffic will be directed to the other side of the road and will then return to the southbound lane after the junction.
To make sure that traffic can continue to flow in all directions while the traffic lights are switched off to be fixed, Traffic and Highway Services has arranged for temporary traffic lights to be put in place. They will be manually controlled between 08:00 and 17:00 on Saturday and Sunday.

Congestion is expected in the surrounding areas as a result of this work taking place.
“We want to thank you for your patience while we carry out these works to improve traffic flow for all of us,” said THS.
The detection loops sit under the road surface meaning new asphalt will have to be laid, and allowed time to cure before the road can reopen.
After this work is complete, there will be another phase of work at a later date to replace the detection loops on the northbound lanes.
