Work starts today on a major project to fix the four mile stretch of road from Trinity Church to Gorey, that will take over a year to finish.
TTS will tackle La Rue de la Maitrerie and La Route de Maufant first and then continue westbound to the parish church.
They say parts of the road are very thin and the work has become a high priority because of the amount of times it’s been dug up by utility companies.
There will be traffic lights on the road from 7.30 am and the road will close fully after the rush hour at 9.15 and will re-open at 6 although they say some work might have to be carried out at night.
Bus routes 3, 4, 13 and 23 will be affected and bus users are advised to consult the LibertyBus website for up to date details or tel: 828555.
The work is being done in three phases with a break from April to the middle of July when the road is busiest and while the Island Games is going on. The work is due to finish in March 2016.
