Every week, Express presents a selection of exhibitions, performances, workshops, events and other historic, creative and delicious content to help islanders get their weekly dose of culture.
Here’s this week’s offering…
Together We Glow

Islanders are being invited to light up St Aubin’s Bay in a neon-themed walk aimed at raising awareness of ADHD.
The Together We Glow event, organised by not-for-profit group ADHD Jersey to mark ADHD Awareness Month, will take place this Friday 10 October.
Walkers will set off from La Frigate at 19:00 and finish in St Aubin.
Participants are being encouraged to wear bright colours and glow sticks to help “make the unseen seen” and highlight the challenges faced by people living with ADHD – a condition founder Rachel Boss described as often “invisible”.
Further details are available on ADHD Jersey’s website.
Music In Action

Islanders can join Music in Action at Jersey Opera House this weekend to celebrate what would have been Gerald Durrell’s 100th birthday.
This historic, animal-themed show features much loved music from Flanders and Swan, including Swan Lake.
A choir of children will perform the specially commissioned ‘Durrell Suite’. The choir is made up of children from both Jersey and Corfu, where Gerald spent his childhood.
All funds raised from the event on Saturday 11 October will go to the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust and Music in Action.
The first concert will take place from 18:00 to 19:00, and the later showing will run from 20:15 until 21:15.

Travellers

Jersey-based artist Jason Butler presents his latest exhibition ‘Travellers’ this month.
The show brings together a series of recent paintings, collages, and drawings that reflect Butler’s long-standing interest in figurative painting.
The artist will be on hand to discuss the work at his gallery at Commercial Buildings.
The exhibition will be open from 09:30 to 17:00 each day until 22 October 22.
Metallica tribute

An “explosive tribute to Metallica” will take place at The Drift this Saturday 11 October.
Tribute ban Metal Militia have previously played the pre-show for multiple Metallica concerts.
Doors will open from 19:30.
Tickets for the event are £25 booked in advance, and £30 at the door.
The age limit is 21+ years.
